Nutrition and food education webinars
At Little People Nutrition we believe that food nourishes our bodies. It also connects us with people – our families, friends, culture and community; as well as our environment – where food comes from and how it is raised and grown.
We believe that the focus for the early years to around 8 years, is on food education, rather than nutrition education. A distinct difference. Focusing on skills, developing a relationship with food, supporting their understanding in practical and achievable steps for their development and life stage.
Our webinars are a way in which families and educators can connect with a seasoned professional, learn, explore, grow and ask questions about key areas of interest in paediatric feeding, eating, nutrition and food education. So we can, together, support our children’s health as they grow.

Story, Song & Cooking: Food education, the holistic way
Over the last 12 years, we have created a unique, multi-modal, food education program which follows the seasons. We use predominantly the heart and hands to explore these themes through story, music, poetry, cooking, food exploration, crafts, gardening and art.
This magical and nurturing program was created alongside much research into sensory based programs and the use of the arts to support young learners, even with food education.
In this webinar we will cover why and how we run this program, giving you specific examples and resources based on the season.
We will also offer support via email afterwards to ensure your success, whether you are a parent, educator or work with young children.

Nutrition for little people: establishing a positive relationship with food
Having worked with food for 25 years, Mandy has a deep and broad understanding of nutrition and food science. Since 2010, she has worked more specifically with children, families and educators, and has real, lived experiences with many children and what does and does not work in the long run.
We eat 3 to 70* meals a day! (* toddlers) And each occasion is part of the picture of “food” in our child’s lives. This gives them the skills and pieces to the puzzle of developing a long lasting relationship with food as they grow.
Whether you child is “fussy” or you are “just not sure”, we would love to support you with some sustainable strategies and knowledge to hold you as your child grows and you form the rhythms of your food journey together.
What people say about us
My daughter was so enamoured with the story about the apple, and now we look for the star in it, every time we eat one.Laura, Mum of 3 year old
The class is so excited when they realise it is cooking day with Mandy. They are excited to see what they will make and have learnt so much over the last 6 months with her. Megan, Preschool room leader.
I would just like to say thank you Mandy for the time and effort that was put into the preparation of our in-service. That you had proposed and presented was perfectly suited to what we needed and it was so valuable to have you speak with us.Kristy, Centre Directior, Sustainable Play Preschool Barnsley
