Classroom Activity:What's Your FavouriteFamily Meal?
My mission at LPN is to create resources for educators and parents that empower and inspire children in their love of food.
We cook, we read, and sometimes we even craft.
This classroom activity is simple and fun for preschool aged children and can be extended for early primary aged children too. It aligns perfectly with my children’s story book, “At my family table” and I have used this activity as an extension of the book when reading at preschools and kindergartens for children to think about their own family table experiences and what their favourite meals are.
All you need is some coloured paper, crayons, scissors and glue and ask the children,
What is your favourite family meal?
Here are some examples below:

We have spaghetti bolognese, carrots and crinkle cut chips, sausages and vegetables, sausages and peas and TACOS!
We have also uploaded some FREE foodie printables that you can download. They might be helpful with younger children. You can find them here.
And if you do make your favourite meal on plates, please tag me on social media with #atmyfamilytable as I would love to see your designs and of course what your favourite meal actually is!
